Entertainment Agents

Lew represents a variety of actors, musicians and others in the entertainment industry. He is constantly on the run, and needed a way to keep order in his life. The Universal Office gives him everything he wants.

"I use the Universal Office to remind me and my team when there's any important event coming up as well as have the Universal Office forward my calls and faxes to me when I travel." says Lew.

Lew figured out very quickly that the AudioGram feature of his Universal Office wasn’t just for calling OTHER people. He uses it to remind HIMSELF when there's an important event he needs to stay on top of. The Universal Office will call Lew, letting him know about appointments, deadlines or anything else he needs to keep an eye on.

"A month or so back, I was working on a music festival in Hollywood. Several of my clients were already playing on the west coast that weekend. Then suddenly an opening comes up – one of the top-line acts backed out when he suddenly ‘remembered’ a previous engagement. (Not one of MY guys, thankfully!) The festival manager found me immediately by calling my Universal Office. He didn’t need to know that I was at home instead of at my Universal City office," says Lew

The festival manager started explaining what happened, and in moments Lew knew he had the perfect fill in for the show. But all of his client’s appointment listings were at his office, and no one was there after hours to send anything to the festival manager.

"I remember thinking, I store all of my important documents in the Universal Office. My GenieMail Folders are my electronic filing cabinets. So I walked over to my PC, logged on to my GenieMail, found the Fax document I needed and forwarded a copy to him within minutes."

Not long after, while Lew was on his way to an appointment, his pager went off. “I saw the code showing me that the Universal Office just received a fax. It even showed me sender’s phone number. Well, I knew it was from the festival manager because I knew his number. So, once I got where I was going, I walked over to one of the faxes in the office, and ‘borrowed’ it for a sec. I called Genie, and told her to fax the document to me right there.

"The festival manager had looked over my available clients for that date, and told me which ones he thought would fit his ticket. All I did then was use the Universal Office’s built in phone book to call the entertainer I thought would be best for that festival."

Within moments he had the open slot filled and was still on time for his appointment. Genie had even reminded him of the appointment earlier in the day.

Lew sums up his experience this way: "Between having Genie to remind me of things, and having my Genie Folders to store important fax documents where I can get at them, leaving the office isn’t nearly the stress-builder it once was. What I did for that singer that one day, I can do for actors, models, magicians – whatever – every day of the week. Because I have a one-number system that does it all: forwards and screens my calls, accepts voice and fax mail, and gives out info on demand at the touch of a button. Genie has become my everyday personal electronic secretary.”
